सीताया रावणनिन्दा — अशोकवनिकाप्रवेशः (Sita’s Rebuke of Ravana; Removal to the Ashoka Grove)

स ताः प्रोवाच राजा तु रावणो घोरदर्शनः।प्रचाल्य चरणोत्कर्षैर्दारयन्निव मेदिनीम्।।।।

sa tāḥ provāca rājā tu rāvaṇo ghoradarśanaḥ |

pracālya caraṇotkarṣair dārayann iva medinīm ||

King Ravana, terrifying in appearance, spoke to them while stamping the ground, as if tearing the earth apart with his heavy steps.

Stamping his feet and shaking the ground as if tearing the earth, Ravana said to those fierce-looking demonesses:

R
Rāvaṇa
R
rākṣasīs (implied recipients)
M
medinī (earth)

The verse warns that arrogance and wrath deform leadership: power expressed as intimidation is a sign of adharma, not kingship aligned with dharma.

Rāvaṇa, in fury, physically displays menace—stamping and shaking the earth—before directing his attendants.

The implied ideal is the dharmic ruler’s restraint; Rāvaṇa’s uncontrolled rage serves as the negative exemplar.
