सीतया लक्ष्मणप्रेषणम् — Sita urges Lakshmana to seek Rama (The crisis of the ‘distressed voice’)
समक्षं तव सौमित्रे प्राणांस्त्यक्षे न संशयः।रामं विना क्षणमपि न हि जीवामि भूतले।।3.45.26।।
ity uktaḥ paruṣaṃ vākyaṃ sītayā romaharṣaṇam || 3.45.27 ||
abravīl lakṣmaṇaḥ sītāṃ prāñjalir vijitendriyaḥ |
Thus addressed by Sītā with harsh, shuddering words, Lakṣmaṇa—self-controlled—spoke to Sītā with folded hands.
I will undoubtedly give up my life in your presence.I will not live even for a moment on earth without Rama, O son of Sumitra !
Dharma is shown as restraint and respectful response even when unjustly insulted—self-mastery supports truthful and non-harmful conduct.
After Sītā’s severe accusations, Lakṣmaṇa prepares to respond calmly, hands folded, maintaining decorum.
Vijitendriyatā (control of senses) and humility—Lakṣmaṇa responds without anger, upholding satya and respect.
