तालमात्रमथोत्प्लुत्य न्यपतत्सशरातुरः।।।।विनदन्भैरवं नादं धरण्यामल्पजीवितः।

Transliteration

tataḥ tryavanataṃ cāpam ādāyātmavibhūṣaṇam |

ābadhya ca kalāpau dvau jagāmōdagravikramaḥ ||

Translation

Then Rāma, of indomitable prowess, took up his bow—curved in three places like an ornament upon him—fastened two quivers, and set out.

And, hurt by the dart, Maricha roared frighteningly, leaped as high as a palm tree and dropped down on earth almost dead.
