अकम्पनवृत्तान्तः — Akampana Reports Janasthana; Ravana Plans Sita’s Abduction
त्वरमाणस्ततो गत्वा जनस्थानादकम्पनः।प्रविश्य लङ्कां वेगेन रावणं वाक्यमब्रवीत्।।3.31.1।।
tvaramāṇas tato gatvā janasthānād akampanaḥ |
praviśya laṅkāṃ vegena rāvaṇaṃ vākyam abravīt ||
Then Akampana, hastening from Janasthana, entered Lanka with speed and addressed Ravana in these words.
Quickly did Akampana leave Janasthana, and quickly he entered Lanka. He said to Ravana:
Actions generate consequences that travel through networks of power: violence in the forest now reaches the throne of Lanka. The verse sets up the moral chain in which adharmic rule responds to the exposure of its wrongdoing.
After the defeat at Janasthana, Akampana rushes to Lanka to inform Ravana of the catastrophe.
Not a virtue but a narrative trait: urgency and alarm—Akampana’s haste signals the magnitude of Rama’s intervention.
