खरवधः — The Slaying of Khara (Janasthana Battle Climax)
आनीतस्त्वमिमं देशमुपायेन महर्षिभिः।एषां वधार्थं क्रूराणां रक्षसां पापकर्मणाम्।।।।
ānītas tvam imaṃ deśam upāyena maharṣibhiḥ | eṣāṃ vadhārthaṃ krūrāṇāṃ rakṣasāṃ pāpakarmaṇām ||
By a deliberate plan, the great sages brought you to this region—so that these cruel rākṣasas of sinful deeds might be slain.
You are brought to this place by the great sages who had cleverly devised a plan to kill the cruel sinners, these demons৷৷
Protecting the innocent is a dharmic duty; strategy (upāya) is acceptable when used to remove persistent violent threats and restore safety for spiritual life.
The sages reveal that Rāma’s arrival in the forest region was part of their plan to end the rākṣasa menace.
Rakṣaṇa (guardianship): Rāma is portrayed as the rightful protector whose presence enables dharma to flourish.
