अरण्यकाण्डे एकोनत्रिंशः सर्गः (Sarga 29: Rama’s Admonition to Khara and the Shattering of the Mace)
प्रहर त्वं यथाकामं कुरु यत्नं कुलाधम।अद्य ते पातयिष्यामि शिरस्तालफलं यथा।।।।
prahara tvaṃ yathākāmaṃ kuru yatnaṃ kulādhama | adya te pātayiṣyāmi śiras tālaphalaṃ yathā ||
Strike as you please and make whatever effort you can, O disgrace to your line; today I will make your head fall like a palm fruit.
O vile fellow, now you may strike at me as you please. I will make your head fall down like a palm fruit.
Firmness in confronting adharma: Rama permits Khara to fight fully, yet asserts decisive punishment for grievous wrongdoing.
Rama intensifies his challenge immediately before combat escalates, declaring Khara’s imminent defeat.
