दूषणवधः (The Slaying of Dūṣaṇa and the Rout of Khara’s Host)
तैर्भिन्नवर्माभरणाश्छिन्नभिन्नशरासनाः।निपेतुश्शोणितादिग्धा धरण्यां रजनीचराः।।।।
tataḥ krodhasamāviṣṭaḥ pradīpta iva tejasā | śarair avākirat sainyaṁ sarvataḥ saha dūṣaṇam ||
Then, possessed by wrath and blazing with tejas, Rāma flooded the army—Dūṣaṇa along with it—from every side with arrows.
The demons fell down on the ground with their shields and ornaments broken, their bows stained with blood splintered.
Dharma here is decisive protection: when evil forces attack, swift and proportionate action restores safety and moral order.
Rama counters Dūṣaṇa and the surrounding host by releasing arrows in all directions, turning the tide of battle.
