खरसेनासङ्ग्रामः — The Battle with Khara’s Host at the Hermitage
नाददानं शरान्घोरान्नमुञ्चन्तं शिलीमुखान्।विकर्षमाणं पश्यन्ति राक्षसास्ते शरार्दिताः।।।।
yugapat patamānaiś ca yugapac ca hatair bhṛśam | yugapat patitaiś caiva vikīrṇā vasudhā bhavat ||
With some falling as they rushed, others being slain, and still others collapsing at the same time, the earth appeared strewn everywhere in a single overwhelming moment.
The demons, though wounded, could not see whereform the terrible arrows came. They only saw Rama shooting the arrows.
The verse underscores the consequence of adharma: when aggression persists, destruction can arrive swiftly and collectively.
The battle reaches a peak where many rākṣasas are struck down almost simultaneously, covering the ground.
Implied is Rama’s effectiveness in righteous defense—decisive action that ends a threat rapidly.
