उत्पातदर्शनं खरसैन्यसमागमश्च (Omens of calamity and the approach of Khara’s army)
रक्षसां नर्दतां घोरश्श्रूयते च महाध्वनिः।आहतानां च भेरीणां राक्षसैः क्रूरकर्मभिः।।।।
anāgata-vidhānaṃ tu kartavyaṃ śubham icchatā | āpadaṃ śaṅkamānena puruṣeṇa vipaścitā ||
One who seeks auspicious well-being—and the wise who foresee danger—should make provision beforehand, before calamity arrives.
A dreadful roar of demons and the loud sound of wardrums beaten by the wicked demons are heard.
Prudent foresight is dharmic: truthfully assessing risk and preparing protective action early prevents greater harm.
With battle imminent, the text inserts a general maxim: wise people prepare defenses before danger fully arrives.
