महोत्पात-लक्षणानि (Omens before Khara’s Assault)
जयतां राघवस्संख्ये पौलस्त्यान् रजनीचरान्।।।।चक्रहस्तो यथा युद्धे सर्वानसुरपुङ्गवान्।
jayatāṃ rāghavaḥ saṅkhye paulastyān rajanī-carān |
cakra-hasto yathā yuddhe sarvān asura-puṅgavān ||
“May Rāghava be victorious in battle over the night-ranging Paulastyas, just as the wielder of the discus once overcame all the foremost asuras in war.”
'Let Rama conquer the descendants of Paulasthya in the war like Visnu, the wielder of the wheel had defeated great demons'.
Dharma is envisioned as the triumph of righteous order over destructive forces; victory is prayed for not as conquest, but as restoration of moral balance.
Seers invoke auspicious victory for Rama as the rākṣasa forces gather, comparing his destined triumph to Viṣṇu’s demon-slaying.
Rama’s virtue is dharma-yuddha—fighting as a duty to protect the innocent and uphold righteousness.
