Shloka 3.19.12
खरस्य क्रोधः — शूर्पणखावृत्तान्तकथनम् (Khara’s Wrath and Śūrpaṇakhā’s Report)
उपलभ्य शनैस्संज्ञां तं मे शंसितुमर्हसि।येन त्वं दुर्विनीतेन वने विक्रम्य निर्जिता।।।।
upalabhya śanaiḥ saṁjñāṁ taṁ me śaṁsitum arhasi | yena tvaṁ durvinītena vane vikramya nirjitā ||
As you slowly recover consciousness, you must tell me who that arrogant one is—by whose prowess in this forest you have been overpowered.
You should tell me as you slowly regain your consciousness which bragart has overpowered you in the forest with his strength.
The verse foregrounds satya-oriented inquiry: before acting, one seeks clear information and truthful identification of the cause and agent.
Khara questions the injured and disfigured Shurpanakha, urging her to regain composure and identify who defeated her in the forest.
