The term 'anuvrataḥ' means 'devoted to' or 'following the vows of'. It highlights Lakshmana's adherence to Bhratri-dharma (the duty of a brother) and his voluntary choice to follow Rama into exile.

Vaidehi means 'Princess of Videha'. Rama uses this patronymic to emphasize her noble lineage as the daughter of King Janaka, establishing her royal identity even within the forest setting.
