Shloka 3.17.16

शूर्पणखाया आगमनम् — Surpanakha Approaches Rama

आसीद्धशरथो नाम राजा त्रिदशविक्रमः।।।।तस्याहमग्रजः पुत्रो रामो नाम जनैश्श्रुतः।

āsīddhaśaratho nāma rājā tridaśavikramaḥ | tasyāhamagrajaḥ putro rāmo nāma janaiśśrutaḥ ||

There was a king named Daśaratha, endowed with prowess like that of the gods. I am his eldest son, known among the people by the name Rāma.

(Rama replied) There was a king named Dasaratha who was mighty like the gods. I am his eldest son known among the people as Rama.
