At once the handsome Lakṣmaṇa went to the Godāvarī River; having bathed, he gathered lotuses and returned, his task fulfilled.
Lakshmana then went to river Godavari, had his bath, and returned with some lotuses.
Śauca and readiness in duty: purity (bathing) and timely preparation support righteous living and proper observance in a new dwelling.
After completing the hut, Lakṣmaṇa goes to the Godāvarī, bathes, and brings lotuses—materials for worship/auspicious rites.
Prompt initiative and ritual-minded care—Lakṣmaṇa anticipates what is needed for auspicious settlement.
