पञ्चवटी-निर्देशः (Agastya Directs Rama to Panchavati)
O Rāma, delight of the Raghu line—blessed is that king, your father, for by you, his eldest son, he has been “carried across,” like Yayāti.
O Rama, joy of the Raghu family! with the eldest son like you, your father is blessed and liberated like king Yayati.
The verse highlights the dharma of the eldest son: by righteous conduct and truthfulness, he upholds and ‘saves’ the father’s honor and destiny.
Agastya praises Rāma, stating that Daśaratha is blessed because Rāma’s vow-keeping elevates the father’s standing, likened to the legendary Yayāti.
Rāma’s filial devotion and integrity, showing how personal righteousness reflects upon and benefits one’s family line.
