पञ्चवटी-निर्देशः (Agastya Directs Rama to Panchavati)

kālo 'yaṃ gatabhūyiṣṭho yaḥ kālas tava rāghava | samayo yo narendreṇa kṛto daśarathena te || tīrṇapratijñaḥ kākutstha sukhaṃ rājye nivatsyasi ||

O Rāghava, most of the time fixed for you—the term set for you by King Daśaratha—has already passed. O Kakutstha, when your vow is fulfilled, you will dwell happily in your kingdom.

O Rama, scion of the Kakutsthas ! much of the period of exile king Dasaratha had assigned has passed. You will fulfil your promise and live happily in the kingdom.

Dharma is vow-keeping (pratijñā-pālana): enduring hardship until the promised term is completed, then returning to rightful duty.

Agastya reassures Rāma that the exile term set by Daśaratha is largely completed and that Rāma will return to kingship after fulfilling it.

Rāma’s perseverance and commitment to truth—his willingness to complete the full term of exile to protect his father’s honor.
