पञ्चाप्सरो-सरः कथनम् तथा अगस्त्याश्रममार्गनिर्देशः (Panchapsara Lake Account and Directions to Agastya)
यदा प्रभृति चाक्रान्ता दिगियं पुण्यकर्मणा।तदा प्रभृति निर्वैराः प्रशान्ता रजनीचराः।।।।
yadā prabhṛti cākrāntā dig iyaṃ puṇyakarmaṇā | tadā prabhṛti nirvairāḥ praśāntā rajanīcarāḥ ||
From the time this quarter was occupied by that man of holy deeds, from that time onward the night-roamers became pacified, laying aside their hostility.
Since the time Agastya of sacred deeds occupied this direction the demons are quiet, leaving all enmity.
Righteous presence establishes social order: dharma is not only personal virtue but a stabilizing force that reduces fear and hostility in the wider world.
The sage credits Agastya’s settlement in the south with the cessation of demonic aggression in that region.
Agastya’s sanctity and authority—his puṇya and tapas transform the conduct of hostile beings.
