Once, while dwelling in the hermitage, the prince of Kakutstha sat near the great sage Sutikshna; and, in humility, he spoke these words.
Once while sitting beside sage Sutikshna at the hermitage Rama humbly addressed him:
Vinaya (humility) before spiritual authority: dharma-oriented inquiry begins with respectful approach to the wise.
At Sutikshna’s hermitage, Rama sits close to the sage and begins a respectful conversation.
Praṇaya with vinaya (courteous intimacy): Rama is close enough to ask questions, yet maintains reverence.
