दशमः सर्गः — Rama’s Vow to Protect the Sages of Daṇḍaka (Dharma of Refuge)
किं करोमीति च मया व्याहृतं द्विजसन्निधौ।सर्वैरेतैस्समागम्य वागियं समुदाहृता।।।।
kiṃ karomīti ca mayā vyāhṛtaṃ dvijasannidhau | sarvair etaiḥ samāgamya vāg iyaṃ samudāhṛtā ||
In the presence of the brāhmaṇas I asked, “What shall I do?” Then all of them, gathering together, spoke this reply with one voice.
I enquired about what I could do for them. And all the brahmins in one voice said:.
Dharma is expressed as readiness to serve and protect the righteous: Rāma actively asks what duty he should perform for the afflicted sages.
After meeting the brāhmaṇas/ascetics, Rāma inquires how he may help; the sages prepare to present their collective plea.
Rāma’s humility and responsibility—he does not presume, but seeks clear guidance for right action.
