Matsya Purana — Yadu Lineage
तया ऽभिभूतौ तौ देवाव् इन्द्राविष्णू बभूवतुः कथं मुच्येव सहितौ विष्णुरिन्द्रम् अभाषत //
tayā 'bhibhūtau tau devāv indrāviṣṇū babhūvatuḥ kathaṃ mucyeva sahitau viṣṇurindram abhāṣata //
Overpowered by her, the two gods—Indra and Viṣṇu—found themselves subdued. Then Viṣṇu spoke to Indra: “How shall we, together, be freed from this?”
This verse does not describe pralaya directly; it depicts a crisis where even major deities are subdued, emphasizing that cosmic order can be challenged and must be restored through divine counsel and action.
It models leadership under adversity: when overwhelmed, one should seek counsel, form alliances, and plan a lawful means of overcoming obstacles—an ethical template the Purāṇas often extend to kingship and household decision-making.
No Vāstu, temple-architecture, or ritual procedure is stated in this verse; its significance is narrative—introducing consultation and strategy before the next prescribed action.
