Matsya Purana — Vishnu’s Battle with Mathana
योषिद्वध्यः पुरोक्तो ऽसि साक्षात्कमलयोनिना उत्तिष्ठ जीवितं रक्ष गच्छास्मात्संगराद्द्रुतम् //
yoṣidvadhyaḥ purokto 'si sākṣātkamalayoninā uttiṣṭha jīvitaṃ rakṣa gacchāsmātsaṃgarāddrutam //
“You have already been declared ‘not to be slain’ directly by the Lotus-born (Brahmā). Rise up—protect your life, and quickly depart from this battlefield.”
This verse does not address Pralaya; it focuses on battlefield conduct and the binding force of Brahmā’s prior declaration (a fate/boon-like protection).
It reflects Rajadharma: even in conflict, one should respect authoritative injunctions and avoid unrighteous killing; prudent withdrawal to preserve life is permitted when protected by dharma or prior divine decree.
No Vāstu or ritual procedure is mentioned; the key takeaway is ethical restraint in violence and obedience to a higher dharmic proclamation.
