Matsya Purana — The Slaying of Jambha and the Rise of Tāraka: Divine Battle Formations
विनाशमागताः प्राप्य शलभा इव पावकम् युगे युगे च दैत्यानां त्वमेवान्तकरो हरे //
vināśamāgatāḥ prāpya śalabhā iva pāvakam yuge yuge ca daityānāṃ tvamevāntakaro hare //
Having met their ruin—like moths rushing into a flame—so too, in every age, you alone, O Hari, are the bringer of the end for the Daityas.
It does not describe cosmic Pralaya directly; it emphasizes recurring destruction of adharmic Daityas in every yuga, a moral-cosmic “restoration” rather than total dissolution.
It frames a core Purāṇic ethic: uphold dharma and restrain destructive forces; kings and householders are to oppose adharmic conduct, trusting that divine order ultimately ends tyranny.
No Vāstu or temple-rule detail appears here; ritually, it functions as stuti—praise used in worship to invoke Hari’s protective, demon-destroying power.
