Matsya Purana — The Rite of the Vibhūti-Dvādaśī Vow
यथा न मुच्यसे देव सदा सर्वविभूतिभिः तथा मामुद्धराशेषदुःखसंसारकर्दमात् //
yathā na mucyase deva sadā sarvavibhūtibhiḥ tathā māmuddharāśeṣaduḥkhasaṃsārakardamāt //
O Lord, just as You are never separated from Your everlasting, all-encompassing divine powers, so too lift me up from the mire of saṃsāra, filled with unending sorrow and suffering.
It does not describe cosmic dissolution directly; it uses the imagery of being “lifted from the mire” to express spiritual rescue from saṃsāra, a theme often emphasized alongside Pralaya narratives as the need for divine refuge.
For a king like Manu, it frames righteous rule and worldly responsibility as insufficient without inner surrender—seeking divine support to transcend the suffering inherent in worldly life while continuing one’s ordained duties.
No Vāstu or temple-building rule is stated; the verse is a devotional prayer (stuti/prārthanā) emphasizing dependence on the Lord’s vibhūtis and the aspiration for liberation.
