Matsya Purana — The Pushkara Manifestation
एतद्वचो निशम्यैव ययौ स दिशमुत्तराम् गत्वा च तत्र ब्रह्मत्वम् अगमज्ज्ञानतेजसा //
etadvaco niśamyaiva yayau sa diśamuttarām gatvā ca tatra brahmatvam agamajjñānatejasā //
Hearing these words, he at once set out toward the northern direction; and having gone there, he attained the state of Brahman through the radiant power of spiritual knowledge.
This verse is not describing cosmic creation or pralaya; it emphasizes liberation (brahmatva) attained through jñāna-tejas (the power of spiritual knowledge).
It points to the Purāṇic ideal that even within worldly roles, one may ultimately turn northward—symbolically toward renunciation—and attain Brahman through disciplined knowledge and inner illumination.
No Vāstu, temple-building, or ritual procedure is specified here; the focus is purely soteriological—attaining Brahman through knowledge.
