Matsya Purana — The Observance of Viśoka-Dvādaśī: A Lakṣmī–Viṣṇu Vow for Sorrow-Removal and P...
विशोका दुःखनाशाय विशोका वरदास्तु मे विशोका चास्तु सम्पत्त्यै विशोका सर्वसिद्धये //
viśokā duḥkhanāśāya viśokā varadāstu me viśokā cāstu sampattyai viśokā sarvasiddhaye //
May Viśokā destroy my sorrow; may Viśokā be my giver of boons. May Viśokā grant prosperity, and may Viśokā bestow complete success in all attainments.
This verse is not about pralaya narratives; it functions as a devotional-mantric appeal to Viśokā for removing suffering and granting success, reflecting Purāṇic ritual spirituality rather than cosmology.
For a householder or ruler, it frames an inner discipline: seeking freedom from grief (duḥkha), righteous prosperity (sampatti), and effective accomplishment (siddhi) through devotional recitation—supporting stable governance and household welfare.
Ritually, it is a stotra/mantra-style repetition of the deity-name “Viśokā” as a protective and prosperity-invoking formula; no Vāstu or temple-building rule is stated in this specific verse.
