Matsya Purana — The Legend of Acchodā: Pitṛloka
पौरवस्यात्मजौ द्वौ तु समुद्रांशस्य शंतनोः विचित्रवीर्यस्तनयस् तथा चित्राङ्गदो नृपः //
pauravasyātmajau dvau tu samudrāṃśasya śaṃtanoḥ vicitravīryastanayas tathā citrāṅgado nṛpaḥ //
Now, Paurava had two sons: Chitrāṅgada, the king, and Vichitravīrya, the son of Śaṃtanu, who was said to be a partial incarnation of the Ocean.
This verse does not discuss Pralaya; it is part of a dynastic genealogy describing succession in the Paurava/Kuru royal line.
Indirectly, it supports the Purana’s rajadharma framework by establishing legitimate royal succession and lineage—key to understanding who inherits the responsibility to protect dharma and the kingdom.
No Vastu, temple-building, or ritual procedure is stated here; the verse is purely genealogical, naming kings and their parentage.
