Matsya Purana — The Greatness and Procedure of the Aṅgāra
*ईश्वर उवाच तस्योत्तरमिदं ब्रह्मन् पिप्पलादस्य धीमतः शृणुष्व यद्वक्ष्यति वै धर्मपुत्राय धार्मिकः //
*īśvara uvāca tasyottaramidaṃ brahman pippalādasya dhīmataḥ śṛṇuṣva yadvakṣyati vai dharmaputrāya dhārmikaḥ //
The Lord said: “O Brahmin, hear this reply of the wise Pippalāda—what that righteous one is indeed about to declare to Dharmaputra.”
This verse does not describe Pralaya directly; it functions as a narrative bridge, introducing Pippalāda’s forthcoming dharma-instruction.
By foregrounding Dharmaputra (the ideal righteous king) as the recipient of teaching, it frames the upcoming discourse as practical dharma guidance relevant to governance and disciplined household life.
No Vāstu, temple-building, or ritual procedure is stated in this verse; it is an introductory cue to listen to a dharmic teaching that follows.
