Matsya Purana — Solar–Lunar Motions
सुधामा चैव वैराजः कर्दमश्च प्रजापतिः हिरण्यरोमा पर्जन्यः केतुमान्राजसश्च सः //
sudhāmā caiva vairājaḥ kardamaśca prajāpatiḥ hiraṇyaromā parjanyaḥ ketumānrājasaśca saḥ //
Sudhāmā, Vairāja, and Kardama the Prajāpati; Hiraṇyaromā, Parjanya, Ketumān, and the one named Rājasa—these too are counted among the progenitors.
It does not describe Pralaya directly; it supports the creation framework by listing Prajāpati-type progenitors who populate and organize living beings across cosmic cycles.
Indirectly, it grounds dharma in lineage and continuity: rulers and householders are portrayed in the Purāṇas as preserving progeny, social order, and ritual succession—values mirrored by these named progenitors.
No Vāstu/temple-building rule appears in this verse; its ritual relevance is mainly genealogical—names of progenitors often function as anchors for gotra, ritual remembrance, and Purāṇic cosmology.
