Matsya Purana — Solar Dynasty Prelude: Vivasvān–Saṃjñā–Chāyā
पुंनाम सत्त्वं यत्किंचिद् आगमिष्यति ते वने स्त्रीत्वमेष्यति तत्सर्वं दशयोजनमण्डले //
puṃnāma sattvaṃ yatkiṃcid āgamiṣyati te vane strītvameṣyati tatsarvaṃ daśayojanamaṇḍale //
Whatever male creature, of any kind, comes into your forest—within a circuit of ten yojanas—all of it will become female.
It signals an extraordinary, law-defying transformation as an omen-like condition around Manu’s forest, consistent with Purāṇic narratives where nature behaves unnaturally in periods leading toward major cosmic upheaval.
By marking a defined affected region (a ten-yojana circuit), it implies the need for prudent governance and protective decision-making—recognizing abnormal signs, setting boundaries, and acting responsibly when dharma and social order may be disrupted.
The key technical point is spatial delimitation—“daśa-yojana-maṇḍala” (a measured circular zone). While not a direct Vāstu rule, it reflects the Purāṇic habit of defining ritual/auspicious (or inauspicious) influence by mapped perimeters, a concept relevant to later sacred-site planning and boundary rites.
