Matsya Purana — Śarkarā-Saptamī Vrata: The Sugar Offering Rite to Savitṛ
Whoever performs this with supreme devotion indeed attains a blessed destiny; he dwells in heaven for one kalpa, and thereafter goes to the highest abode.
This verse is not about pralaya; it is a results (phala) statement teaching that supreme devotion yields prolonged heavenly enjoyment and ultimately the highest spiritual abode.
It frames duty and observance as effective only when performed with parā-bhakti: a king or householder who carries out prescribed acts with sincere devotion gains both worldly merit (svarga) and the final goal (parama padam).
No specific Vāstu or iconographic rule appears here; the verse functions as a general phala-śruti—affirming that any prescribed rite or sacred observance, when done with supreme devotion, bears the highest fruit.
