Then, from the four jewel-filled ritual pots, the brāhmaṇa should take the middle portion (as prescribed) and, at that spot, recite the solar (Sūrya-related) mantras.
This verse is not about pralaya; it preserves ritual continuity by prescribing a precise mantra-and-kumbha procedure centered on Sūrya worship.
It implies that a king or householder should employ qualified brāhmaṇas to perform correctly sequenced rites—especially solar mantra recitations—so that public and domestic ceremonies follow śāstric order.
Ritually, it specifies four jewel-filled kumbhas and taking the ‘middle portion’ before reciting Sūrya mantras—indicating a structured, directional/central allocation typical of consecration-style procedures.
