Matsya Purana — Rite and Layout for Consecrating Ponds
प्रतिगर्तेषु कलशी यज्ञोपकरणानि च व्यजनं चामरे शुभ्रे ताम्रपात्रे सुविस्तृते //
pratigarteṣu kalaśī yajñopakaraṇāni ca vyajanaṃ cāmare śubhre tāmrapātre suvistṛte //
In the prepared pits (receptacles), one should place a ritual water-pot (kalaśa) and the implements of sacrifice; also a fan and auspicious white chowries (cāmaras), set within a broad, well-spread copper vessel.
This verse does not discuss Pralaya directly; it focuses on correct placement of ritual and worship implements, reflecting orderly sacred procedure rather than cosmic dissolution.
It supports dharmic duty by prescribing proper yajña and worship arrangements—guidance relevant to householders performing rites and to kings sponsoring public sacrifices and temple services.
It specifies the ritual layout: pits/receptacles for placing the kalaśa and yajña tools, and the use of a broad copper vessel for holding auspicious items like the cāmara and fan—details aligned with Matsya Purana’s Vastu/ritual protocol.
