Matsya Purana — Rasakalyāṇinī Vrata: Magha-based Goddess Worship
व्रतान्ते करकं पूर्णम् एतेषां मासि मासि च दद्याद्द्विकालवेलायां पूर्णपात्रेण संयुतम् //
vratānte karakaṃ pūrṇam eteṣāṃ māsi māsi ca dadyāddvikālavelāyāṃ pūrṇapātreṇa saṃyutam //
At the conclusion of the vow (vrata), one should give a water-pot (karaka) filled to the brim. And for these observances, month after month as well, one should make the gift at the two daily junction-times (morning and evening), accompanied by a filled vessel as an offering.
This verse does not address pralaya; it focuses on dharmic practice—how vows are completed through prescribed gifts and proper ritual timing.
It prescribes a householder-style discipline: completing vows with dāna (a full water-pot and a filled vessel) and maintaining regular, time-bound observance month after month—an ethic equally applicable to rulers supporting public dharma.
Ritually, it emphasizes vrata-anta dāna and correct timing at the two daily sandhyā junctions; the “karaka” (water-pot) and “pūrṇa-pātra” (filled vessel) indicate completeness and auspiciousness in concluding rites.
