Matsya Purana — Rasakalyāṇinī Vrata: Magha-based Goddess Worship
कटिं सुरतवासिन्यै तथोरुं चम्पकप्रिये जानुजङ्घे नमो गौर्यै गायत्र्यै घुटिके नमः //
kaṭiṃ suratavāsinyai tathoruṃ campakapriye jānujaṅghe namo gauryai gāyatryai ghuṭike namaḥ //
Salutations to the Goddess abiding in the waist as Suratavāsinī; and to the thigh, beloved as Campakapriyā. Reverence to Gaurī in the knees and shanks; and salutations to Gāyatrī in the ankles.
This verse does not discuss pralaya; it focuses on ritualized salutations that map divine names to specific limbs of the Goddess as part of worship practice.
It supports the householder/kingly duty of maintaining dharma through prescribed worship—offering disciplined, limb-by-limb reverence as a regulated devotional practice.
Ritually, it reflects nyāsa/anga-vandana—assigning sacred names to body parts during pūjā, which is commonly used in temple liturgy and consecration-oriented recitations.
