Matsya Purana — Pitṛ Worlds
खड्गलोहामिषमधुकुशश्यामाकशालयः यवनीवारमुद्गेक्षुशुक्लपुष्पघृतानि च //
khaḍgalohāmiṣamadhukuśaśyāmākaśālayaḥ yavanīvāramudgekṣuśuklapuṣpaghṛtāni ca //
Swords and iron, meat and honey, kuśa-grass, the grains śyāmāka and śāli-rice, barley, nīvāra wild-rice, mudga (green gram), sugarcane, white flowers, and clarified butter (ghee) as well.
This verse does not discuss pralaya; it is a dharma-style enumeration of materials (foods and ritual goods) suitable for offering, donation, or sacrificial use.
By listing grains, ghee, flowers, kuśa, honey, and other goods, the verse supports the householder/kingly duty of sustaining yajña and dāna—maintaining social and ritual order through proper offerings and charitable distribution.
Ritually, items like kuśa-grass, white flowers, and ghee are standard upacāras (sacred requisites) used in worship, homa, and consecrations; such materials also appear in temple-pratiṣṭhā and related procedural contexts.
