Matsya Purana — Paurava Genealogy: Bharata
सार्वभौमेति विख्यातः पृथिव्याम् एकराड् बभौ तस्यान्ववाये महति महापौरवनन्दनः //
sārvabhaumeti vikhyātaḥ pṛthivyām ekarāḍ babhau tasyānvavāye mahati mahāpauravanandanaḥ //
He became renowned on the earth as “Sārvabhauma,” the sole sovereign ruler; and in his great lineage there was born Mahāpaurava-nandana, a descendant of the Pauravas.
This verse does not discuss Pralaya; it belongs to the Matsya Purana’s genealogical narration, highlighting a universal sovereign and his descendants.
By presenting the ideal of an ‘ekarāṭ’ (sole sovereign), it implicitly points to the Puranic model of kingship—stable rule, protection of the earth, and continuity of righteous lineage.
No Vastu or ritual procedure is stated here; the focus is royal lineage and the fame of a universal monarch.
