Matsya Purana — Paurava Genealogy: Bharata
बृहद्धनोर् बृहदिषुः पुत्रस्तस्य जयद्रथः अश्वजित्तनयस्तस्य सेनजित् तस्य चात्मजः //
bṛhaddhanor bṛhadiṣuḥ putrastasya jayadrathaḥ aśvajittanayastasya senajit tasya cātmajaḥ //
From Bṛhaddhanu was born Bṛhadiṣu; his son was Jayadratha. From Aśvajit was born Senajit, his son.
This verse does not address pralaya or cosmology; it is a genealogical register enumerating successive kings and their sons.
Indirectly, it supports the Purana’s model of dharmic continuity: royal duty is framed through legitimate succession and remembered lineage, which anchors social order and kingship ethics across generations.
No Vastu Shastra, temple architecture, or ritual procedure is stated in this verse; its function is historical-genealogical rather than architectural or liturgical.
