Matsya Purana — Paurava Genealogy: Bharata
सद्योजातं कुमारं तु दृष्ट्वा तं ममताब्रवीत् गमिष्यामि गृहं स्वं वै भरस्वैनं बृहस्पते //
sadyojātaṃ kumāraṃ tu dṛṣṭvā taṃ mamatābravīt gamiṣyāmi gṛhaṃ svaṃ vai bharasvainaṃ bṛhaspate //
Seeing the newly born boy, Mamatā said: “I shall go to my own home; O Bṛhaspati, do you rear this child.”
This verse does not address pralaya or cosmic dissolution; it focuses on a domestic-ethical moment in a lineage narrative—entrusting a newborn to Bṛhaspati for care.
It highlights dharma in practical terms: guardianship and responsibility for a child. Even outside royal policy, the Purāṇic ethic emphasizes protection, upbringing, and rightful care within social order.
No Vāstu, temple-building, or ritual procedure is specified in this verse; its significance is narrative and ethical (caregiving/guardianship) rather than architectural.
