Matsya Purana — Paurava Genealogy
वसुदाम्नः शतानीको भविष्योदयनस्ततः भविष्यते चोदयनाद् वीगे राजा वहीनरः //
vasudāmnaḥ śatānīko bhaviṣyodayanastataḥ bhaviṣyate codayanād vīge rājā vahīnaraḥ //
From Vasudāmā, Śatānīka will be born; from him will come Udayana; and from Udayana, in Vīga, King Vahīnara will arise.
This verse does not describe Pralaya; it belongs to the Matsya Purana’s genealogical material, recording royal succession across generations.
Indirectly, it supports the Purana’s model of dharmic continuity: kingship is presented as a lineage-based responsibility, where rule and order pass through named successors.
No Vastu, temple-building, or ritual procedure is stated here; the verse is purely dynastic, naming rulers and their succession.
