Matsya Purana — Paurava Genealogy
वृष्णिमतः सुषेणश्च भविष्यति शुचिर्नृपः तस्मात्सुषेणाद्भविता सुनीथो नाम पार्थिवः //
vṛṣṇimataḥ suṣeṇaśca bhaviṣyati śucirnṛpaḥ tasmātsuṣeṇādbhavitā sunītho nāma pārthivaḥ //
From Vṛṣṇimat will be born Suṣeṇa, a king of pure mind; and from that Suṣeṇa will arise a ruler named Sunītha.
This verse does not address Pralaya; it belongs to a genealogical sequence, recording royal succession and emphasizing virtuous kingship through the epithet “śuci” (pure).
By calling Suṣeṇa “śuci” (pure/virtuous), the verse signals the Matsya Purana’s ideal of kingship grounded in purity, ethical conduct, and rightful succession—key qualities expected of a dharmic ruler.
No Vastu, temple-building, or ritual procedure is stated here; the verse functions primarily as a dynastic record within the Matsya Purana’s genealogy section.
