Matsya Purana — Paurava Genealogy
अक्रोधनस् त्व् आयुसुतस् तस्माद्देवातिथिः स्मृतः देवातिथेस्तु दायादो दक्ष एव बभूव ह //
akrodhanas tv āyusutas tasmāddevātithiḥ smṛtaḥ devātithestu dāyādo dakṣa eva babhūva ha //
Akrodhana was the son of Āyu; from him, Devātithi is remembered as the descendant. And from Devātithi, the rightful heir was indeed Dakṣa.
This verse does not describe Pralaya directly; it preserves a creation-era genealogical memory (vaṁśa) by naming successive descendants culminating in Dakṣa.
Indirectly, it supports the Purāṇic ideal of lawful succession (dāyāda)—a key ethical principle for household inheritance and stable rulership through legitimate heirs.
No Vāstu or temple-ritual rule is stated in this verse; its significance is genealogical, situating Dakṣa—often linked elsewhere with ritual organization—within a remembered lineage.
