Matsya Purana — Origins of Gods and Beings: Daksha’s Progeny
हर्यश्वेषु प्रनष्टेषु पुनर्दक्षः प्रजापतिः वैरिण्यामेव पुत्राणां सहस्रमसृजत्प्रभुः //
haryaśveṣu pranaṣṭeṣu punardakṣaḥ prajāpatiḥ vairiṇyāmeva putrāṇāṃ sahasramasṛjatprabhuḥ //
When the Haryaśvas had perished, Dakṣa—the Lordly Prajāpati—once again begot, through Vairiṇī, a thousand sons.
It reflects continuation of creation after a setback: when a prior group of progeny (the Haryaśvas) are ‘lost,’ Dakṣa renews generation by producing another thousand sons.
Indirectly, it highlights the Purāṇic ideal of sustaining lineage and social continuity—an echo of the householder’s role in supporting progeny and order (pravṛtti), though the verse itself is primarily genealogical.
None is explicit in this śloka; it belongs to the genealogy/creation thread rather than Matsya Purana Vastu Shastra tips or temple-building rules.
