Matsya Purana — Origins of Gods and Beings: Daksha’s Progeny
भुवः प्रमाणं सर्वत्र ज्ञात्वा भ्रातॄन् अथो पुनः आगत्य चाथ सृष्टिं च करिष्यथ विशेषतः //
bhuvaḥ pramāṇaṃ sarvatra jñātvā bhrātṝn atho punaḥ āgatya cātha sṛṣṭiṃ ca kariṣyatha viśeṣataḥ //
Having learned everywhere the measures of the earth/world, and having known your brothers, return again; then you shall carry out the creation—specifically, the special ordering of beings and realms.
It implies a post-survey, post-organization phase of re-creation: after knowing the world’s extent and reconnecting with one’s “brothers” (progenitors/companions), the agents are instructed to undertake viśeṣa-sṛṣṭi—an ordered, specific creation rather than a random emergence.
The verse models dharmic governance and household order: first ascertain standards and boundaries (pramāṇa), understand one’s kin/community (bhrātṛ), then return to implement structured work (sṛṣṭi) carefully (viśeṣataḥ)—a principle applicable to administration, settlement, and social organization.
While not naming Vāstu directly, it foregrounds pramāṇa (correct measurement/standard), a core Vāstu-Śāstra principle: accurate measurement precedes any successful “creation,” whether town-planning, temple layout, or ritual space arrangement.
