Matsya Purana — Navagraha Sacrifice for Planetary Pacification and Prosperity
पीतवस्त्रयुगं यस्माद् वासुदेवस्य वल्लभम् प्रदानात्तस्य मे विष्णो ह्य् अतः शान्तिं प्रयच्छ मे //
pītavastrayugaṃ yasmād vāsudevasya vallabham pradānāttasya me viṣṇo hy ataḥ śāntiṃ prayaccha me //
Since the pair of yellow garments is dear to Vāsudeva, O Viṣṇu—by the act of offering that, therefore grant me peace.
This verse is not about pralaya; it is a dāna-oriented prayer asking Viṣṇu for śānti (pacification/peace) based on the merit of offering garments dear to Vāsudeva.
It supports the householder/kingly duty of dāna (charitable gifting): offering appropriate items with devotion and dedicating the merit to Viṣṇu, seeking inner and social peace (śānti) as a dharmic outcome.
Ritually, it functions as a vastra-dāna śānti-prārthanā: the donor offers a pair of yellow garments (symbolically linked to Viṣṇu’s auspiciousness) and prays for pacification; no Vāstu/temple-construction rule is stated in this verse.
