Matsya Purana — Lineage of the Pitṛs
पुरूरवाश्च राजर्षिलोके व्यजेयताम् अगात् ययातिः पुत्रलाभं च धनलाभं च भार्गवः //
purūravāśca rājarṣiloke vyajeyatām agāt yayātiḥ putralābhaṃ ca dhanalābhaṃ ca bhārgavaḥ //
Purūravas attained renown in the world of the royal seers (rājarṣis), and Yayāti likewise achieved fame. The Bhārgava—sage of Bhṛgu’s line—became a bestower of gains: the gaining of sons and the gaining of wealth.
This verse does not discuss Pralaya; it highlights fame and prosperity within royal genealogies, emphasizing exemplary figures and their renown.
By praising Purūravas and Yayāti as renowned figures among rājarṣis, the verse reinforces the ideal that kingship should be aligned with dharma, producing social stability, prosperity, and worthy lineage (putra-lābha) alongside material well-being (dhana-lābha).
No Vāstu/temple-architecture rule is stated here; the verse belongs to the dynasty-and-kings theme rather than ritual procedure or iconography.
