Matsya Purana — Kārtavīrya Arjuna’s Solar Boon and the Genealogy from Kroṣṭu to the Yādava Lines
राजाधिदेवस्य सुतौ जज्ञाते देवसंमितौ नियमव्रतप्रधानौ शोणाश्वः श्वेतवाहनः //
rājādhidevasya sutau jajñāte devasaṃmitau niyamavratapradhānau śoṇāśvaḥ śvetavāhanaḥ //
To Rājādhideva were born two sons, comparable to the gods—foremost in disciplined observances and vows: Śoṇāśva and Śvetavāhana.
This verse does not discuss Pralaya; it records a genealogical detail—Rājādhideva’s two sons—within the Purāṇa’s lineage narration.
By praising the princes as “foremost in niyama and vrata,” the verse upholds self-restraint, vow-keeping, and disciplined conduct as core virtues expected of royal heirs and exemplary householders.
No Vāstu or temple-architecture rule appears here; the only ritual implication is the emphasis on vrata (vowed observances) as a marker of sanctified, dharmic kingship.
