Matsya Purana — Kārtavīrya Arjuna’s Solar Boon and the Genealogy from Kroṣṭu to the Yādava Lines
भजमानस्य पुत्रो ऽथ रथिमुख्यो विदूरथः राजाधिदेवः शूरश्च विदूरथसुतो ऽभवत् //
bhajamānasya putro 'tha rathimukhyo vidūrathaḥ rājādhidevaḥ śūraśca vidūrathasuto 'bhavat //
Now, Bhajamāna’s son was Vidūratha, foremost among chariot-warriors; and Vidūratha’s son was Śūra, also known as Rājādhideva.
This verse does not address Pralaya; it is a dynastic notice listing successive kings and their epithets.
By calling Vidūratha ‘foremost among chariot-warriors’ and naming Śūra (‘valiant’), the verse highlights ideal Kṣatriya qualities—martial competence, leadership, and royal eminence—used in the Matsya Purana to frame righteous kingship through lineage.
No Vāstu, temple-architecture, or ritual procedure is mentioned; the focus is purely genealogical (vamśa).
