Matsya Purana — Hiranyakashipu’s Boons
देवैर्ब्रह्मर्षिभिः सार्धं सिद्धैः सप्तर्षिभिस्तथा राजर्षिभिः पुण्यकृद्भिर् गन्धर्वाप्सरसां गणैः //
devairbrahmarṣibhiḥ sārdhaṃ siddhaiḥ saptarṣibhistathā rājarṣibhiḥ puṇyakṛdbhir gandharvāpsarasāṃ gaṇaiḥ //
Together with the gods, with the brahmarṣis, with the siddhas and the seven seers; and likewise with the royal sages—doers of merit—and with the companies of Gandharvas and Apsarases.
It depicts a cosmic-scale gathering—gods, perfected beings, and great seers—suggesting that pralaya-related events are overseen and witnessed by the highest orders of beings, emphasizing divine governance during dissolution.
By highlighting rajarishis and puṇyakṛt (merit-doers), it implicitly upholds the ideal that rulers and householders should cultivate dharma and merit so they may stand among the righteous in times of upheaval.
No direct Vāstu or temple-rule detail appears in this verse; its ritual implication is the idea of a sanctioned divine-sage assembly (a model for sacred congregations and formal ritual audiences).
