Matsya Purana — Genealogy of the Śūra–Vasudeva
कृष्णस्य जन्माभ्युदयं यः कीर्तयति नित्यशः शृणोति मानवो नित्यं सर्वपापैः प्रमुच्यते //
kṛṣṇasya janmābhyudayaṃ yaḥ kīrtayati nityaśaḥ śṛṇoti mānavo nityaṃ sarvapāpaiḥ pramucyate //
Whoever continually proclaims the auspicious advent of Kṛṣṇa—and whoever, as a human being, constantly listens to it—is freed from all sins.
This verse does not address pralaya or cosmology; it teaches bhakti-phala (the spiritual fruit) of regularly hearing and glorifying Krishna’s divine advent.
It supports the householder/kingly ideal of daily dharmic practice: śravaṇa (listening) and kīrtana (devotional narration) are presented as accessible disciplines that purify conduct and reduce pāpa, strengthening ethical life and governance.
No vāstu or temple-building rule is stated; the ritual takeaway is the devotional practice itself—regular recitation and attentive hearing as a purificatory observance.
