Matsya Purana — Genealogy of Kaśyapa: Ādityas
जटायुषः कर्णिकारः शतगामी च विश्रुतौ सारसो रज्जुवालश्च भेरुण्डश्चापि तत्सुताः //
jaṭāyuṣaḥ karṇikāraḥ śatagāmī ca viśrutau sāraso rajjuvālaśca bheruṇḍaścāpi tatsutāḥ //
Of Jaṭāyuṣa, these were the sons: Karṇikāra; and the two renowned ones, Śatagāmī and Viśruta; also Sārasa, Rajjuvāla, and Bheruṇḍa.
This verse is purely genealogical, listing descendants of Jaṭāyuṣa; it does not describe Pralaya or cosmological dissolution.
Indirectly, it supports the Purāṇic emphasis on lineage (vaṁśa) and continuity—key for kingship legitimacy and for householders preserving family tradition through progeny and record of ancestors.
None is stated in this verse; it contains no Vāstu, temple-building, or ritual procedural terminology—only a list of names within a genealogy.
